Clean Water and the Effect of Water On Your Health

Clean water

Clean water is essential to the human body.

What does clean water have to do with the human body?

Water is important to the mechanics of the human body. The human body cannot work without clean water. In fact, all the cell and organ functions that make up 75% of our entire anatomy depend on clean water for their functioning. People that drink from an untreated private well or spring can sometimes suffer from chronic infection of the small intestine and this can lead to malabsorption, which in turn can lead to serious health risks.

Since clean water is such an important component of our body and our health, it makes sense that that we pay attention to the quality of the water we consume. Having your water tested before consuming it is very important.  If it is found to be contaminated, having the right water filtration system is the key to clean water for your health. Drinking water should always be clean and free of contaminants to ensure proper health and wellness.

Do not drink

Some water should not be consumed, as it could be hazardous to your health.

What is in drinking water?

Groundwater that fills wells can become contaminated. Some elements it picks up from rocks as it seeps through the ground, but run-off pollutants can also seep into groundwater.  Iron, sulfur, manganese, and deadly organisms such as e-ccoli and coliform bacteria may be in your drinking water, we say this not to scare you, but to make sure that you have your water tested for your own safety. If any of these contaminants are in your water then it is in need of filtration in order to have clean drinking water.

How do we get clean drinking water?

Having the right water filtration system for your water source is very important in many ways. Another reason to have proper water filtration is to preserve the life of your water using appliances. For example, iron can cause discoloration/staining on tubs, toilets, sinks, fixtures, and  driveways. If you have a high level of hardness in the water, you may have irritated skin, spotted dishes, or even corroded plumbing fixtures from calcium build up. If you notice a rotten egg smell in the water, it is most likely sulfur, manganese, or both.
